Sounds like a nice little vacation with friends :) The water looks lovely! Alabama is one of the few states I haven’t visited yet, but when I do I’d like to see some of this coastline.

In reply to Hege. Haha, yes, this is definitely a lesser known destination, but it was the perfect long weekend trip for us (especially during Covid when we couldn't fly anywhere). We're so lucky to have stumbled upon this hidden gem and hopefully will be back again in the future!

I actually had to Google-map Gulf Shores Alabama – it is so easy to “forget” that there are amazing spots all along the coast – not just the famous tourist areas! Thank you for this great overview, the views of the sunrise, sunset, and incredible beach are stunning!

I had to google where Gulf Shores was (I am not American, so I had no idea that Alabama had that sneaky area that stretches down to the Gulf of Mexico. Now I have seen it, it seems rude that Florida takes up so much of that coastline!)
